BTW - NE Patriots.com has a number of video segments with BB diagramming certain plays that went well. Absolutely a must to watch. Very educational.

I hate pregame hype. I want the game. I also hate how this board has died. With the SB, draft, trades, FA losses and signings - so much to talk about.

This board is a ghost town but I'll hold on until more people return. BB did a great job in acquiring talent and in the draft. Pats fan know they are in for a good season whenever you see guys like Cannon step their game up. How can Pats lose? I never once gave any thought of ATL winning the SB. I'm so confident in this squad that I'm anxious to see who will be the MVP. I can't wait to see who Butler covers, because I doubt it will be Jones. If NE can limit three weapons we are in good shape. My only concern is I think it will take a MVP performance from our DLine to win. I doubt our linebackers can blitz freely knowing the pass catching backs ATLanta has, so where will the pressure come from? I'm going out on a limb to say that special teamer #31 will set the tone for us all night.

I just posted our site address on NEPatriotsDraft.com - lot's of conversation on that site - when it is active - from very knowledgeable people. Hope some check us out. They would be welcome additions.

I have been hearing that DH probably hit the open market....maybe LB will be a much higher need!

What do you think it would take to get him? If going to the Bears, I agree they will push the hardest, so 2 2s and a 3 or a 4 from them. The Bears had many close games this past year, but probably losing Jeffrey, no TE, and a terrible defense, they still may take a few seasons to START to turn the corner to be a playoff team, especially in that division. He would be set up to fail in Chicago. I think the most logical team will be to the Texans because of the offense being so similar (their 1st and 3rd this year?). This team is set up now to win.
Cleveland, I know I hear the laughs as I write this, is the next best landing spot for him. The do have a couple of WRs (even without Prior), a TE, and a couple of RBs. Their defense isn't good now, but have some pieces in place and if they trade Haden, they can add more to their offense (line) and defense.
Never the Jets, SF has NOTHING on offense except for Carlos Hyde (who cares!), and very little on defense.

depends upon the team and what assets they have. No way we get the Browns #1 or Bears #3. Could get the Brown's #12. JG and our first for #12 and a 3rd or 4th next year. Chicago's 2nd rounder this year plus their 3rd and a 2nd next year. Nothing straight up but mixing and matching with maybe even a young veteran player in exchange. It really comes down to how many teams and which teams are interested. The more with strong interest then the more we get. I suspect if we somehow got the 3rd or 12th we would then trade down with that for picks this year and next.

I have been hearing that DH probably hit the open market....maybe LB will be a much higher need! I think DH will do what DM did and test the market and use his top offer to leverage the Pats. I don't think the money is available league wide to have some of the very over the top FA contracts we saw last year but DH still will demand a good contract. Pats have a lot of money and can step in at the end if it is not too crazy and match or almost match. But, not if it gets crazy.

This is what I previously posted, which would change if DH walks.
If we were to draft based upon need I would set this priority for positions:
DE TE T CB DT ILB/OLB

Getting antsy. Cooked my kielbasa and chicken wings at 7 AM this morning. Haven't turned the TV on yet. Won't till just before kick off. Other than my normal pregame fear of losing and never underestimating the opponent I have no feel on how this game will go. Could be a one point victory or loss or a blow-out by either team. Hoping Atlanta succumbs to the first time pressure of the big game.

Story on Pats wanting to extend Brady is not a surprise. I think his work ethic and the way he takes care of his body precludes a precipitous decline so another three years of top to elite performance is no longer a fantasy or pipe dream.

WOW! MOMENTUM. Went to bed. Couldn't sleep. Turned it back on just as we made it 28 - 20.
Edelman catch erases, almost, sting or Tyree, Manningham and almost Kearse. More amazing catch than any of them.
Brady - WOW.
White - WOW WOW and so many had him, not making this team.

Brady is so clutch but it gets overlooked because he makes it look soooo easy. How many clutch throws tonight? Almost all in the 3Q thru OT.

Like I said, I never felt Pats would lose this game. This team is too dialed in and they don't quit. Can't wait to hear haters bring up "easy schedule," and "they ain't face a good quarterback," talk!
WE WON!!!!!!! BOW DOWN WORLD!!

rewatched the game. Mason was horrible in pass protection. Most pressures and sacks came through him. Pass blocking not his strength and he really needs to improve on that. Not sure Thuney gave up a sack or pressure. Solder was mediocre. Cannon good in both facets. What a turn around by him this year.
